ANC3F RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE REVISED CONCEPT/ADDITION

 PLAN FOR THE OWL’S NEST, 3031 GATES ROAD, N.W.

WHEREAS, the property known as the Owl’s Nest, 3031 Gates Road, N.W. {Square 2263,

Lot 875) was designated a historic landmark in the District of Columbia Inventory of Historic Sites on May 16, 2001; and

WHEREAS, the Owl’s Nest is located in ANC 3F; and

WHEREAS, the owner of the Owl’s Nest, Donatelli Development, Inc., has filed an application with the Historic Preservation Review Board, HPA #06-388, for approval of a concept/addition plan to demolish the 1950's wing and to construct a new addition, pool, garage, and driveway/parking area; and

WHEREAS, ANC 3F reviewed the concept/addition plan prepared by GTM Architects dated

August 23, 2006; at a public meeting on September 18, 2006; and

WHEREAS, ANC 3F has received letters from residents residing near the Owl’s Nest supporting the concept/addition plan; and

WHEREAS, ANC 3F has heard no opposition to the concept/addition plan; and

WHEREAS, HPRB will have jurisdiction over any construction at the site; and

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that ANC 3F recommends and urges that the HPRB approve the concept/addition plan for the Owl’s Nest; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that ANC 3F designates Commissioners Daniel Klibanoff,

Robert V. Maudlin and Frank Winstead to represent it before the HPRB.

Adopted by a vote of 6-0-0 at a duly noticed public meeting of ANC 3F, with a quorum present,

on September 18, 2006.
