ANC 3F RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE
APPLICATION FOR A CERTIFICATE OF NEED FOR A “MINUTECLINIC” AT CVS, 4555
WISCONSIN AVENUE, NW

WHEREAS, Dr d’Orta has applied for a
certificate of need to open a MinuteClinic at the Tenleytown CVS, 4555
Wisconsin Avenue, N.W., which is located within the boundary of ANC 3F; and
WHEREAS, the MinuteClinic would be a walk-in clinic open approximately 72 hours a week, including evening and weekend hours, to diagnose and treat common illnesses and to administer vaccinations; it would be staffed by nurse practitioners licensed in the District with access to physicians for medical specialty referrals; and
WHEREAS, the CVS is located in a busy commercial district accessible by foot, car, subway, and bus from several neighborhoods and surrounded by schools for all ages; and
WHEREAS, residents have expressed an overwhelming desire to have the services of the MinuteClinic, not only to diagnose such ailments as ear infections and strep throat quickly and conveniently, but also to receive flu shots;
THERFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT: ANC 3F supports the application for a MinuteClinic at CVS, 4555 Wisconsin Avenue, N.W., and urges that the certificate of need be approved.
This resolution was adopted by a vote of 7-0-0 at a duly-noticed public
meeting on June 19, 2006, with a quorum present (a quorum being four).
