WHEREAS:  the office of Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner for Single-Member District 3F07 (SMD 3F07) was certified vacant and the Board of Elections and Ethics (BOEE) submitted a list of qualified candidates to Advisory Neighborhood Commission 3F following the period for petition circulation and challenge, pursuant to D.C. Code § 1-309.06(d) (2001); and

WHEREAS:  Advisory Neighborhood Commission (ANC) 3F gave public notice of the election, pursuant to D.C. Code § 1-309.06(d) (2001), by announcing the election at its monthly meeting on January 14, 2002, by having notice of the election published in The Northwest Current, a newspaper of general circulation in SMD 3F07, and by circulating a flyer to residences in SMD 3F07; and

WHEREAS:  at its monthly meeting on February 19, 2002, at the Van Ness South Building, 3003 Van Ness Street, N.W., ANC 3F held an open vote from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. of qualified registered electors of SMD 3F07 who displayed their voter identification cards showing they are registered in SMD 3F07 or whose names were listed as voters in SMD 3F07 on the voter registration list supplied by the BOEE; and

WHEREAS: Todd Strauss was declared winner, following a count of votes by at least two impartial vote counters;

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT:  Advisory Neighborhood Commission 3F requests that the BOEE declare the vacancy in SMD 3F07 filled by  Todd Strauss  by publication in the District of Columbia Register.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT:  copies of this Resolution be forwarded to the District of Columbia Board of Elections and Ethics, the Mayor, the Secretary of the Council of the District of Columbia, and  Todd Strauss .
