I may be the only person in the neighborhood/country/world, or maybe I don't watch enough police shows, but I have no idea what "keyed" means in this context. Please explain! Thanks, Jenny.

I believe it means that someone used a key to
scratch the paint on the car, probably along
the sides and possibly other surfaces.
