Rude treatment by police for cellphone use

My significant other got stopped in Georgetown for talking on her
cellphone while driving, and was treated incredibly rudely by Officer
Susan Mayer, MPD. She treatd my s.o. as if she had committed a major
crime, even though she was dressed as a professional and offered no
resistance! The harrassment lasted 20 minutes, during which time
Officer Mayer had her hand on her handgun. After the ticket was
issued, she and her male partner in the police car followed my s.o. all
the way up Wisconsin, then down Mass. to Tenleytown, ignoring several
moving violations by other drivers en route. Has anyone else had a
similar experiece with this particular member of the MPD?

ATM Theft  -- Be Aware

From: scott.nelson@1731.org

Some rules of thumb:

1. Don't give your ATM PIN out to ANYONE. Not even bank employees are
supposed to ask you for it.

2. If your ATM or other card is not returned or gets stuck, let the
bank know immediately. If someone comes up to you and offers to help
you retrieve your card, you can generally assume that they are not
legitimate. If the branch is open, go inside the bank branch to
someone that you can verify is an actual bank employee.

3. Above all else, be safe.
If you are approached by someone offering to help retrieve your card,
suspect that this is happening to you and the bank is not open,
politely say "no thank you", then get to a safe place/location (public
place with lots of people is generally preferred ) away from the
person so you can call 911 and report this.

Hope this helps.
Scott

I'm a just-graduated Sidwell high school senior, headed to Carnegie
Mellon next year, and am available to help you with your computer
problems--like installing new hardware or software and troubleshooting
the computer. I live in A.U. Park, and will come to your house. If I
don't fix your problem, there's no charge.

Please let me know if you would like any help by emailing me at
help@raychow.net

Thanks,

Lucas
