Here is a message from a Suzanne, dove
owner who has volunteered to
catch this dove - can someone who lives in the area with the dove
contact her?

Is there any way you can catch it? If it's really a 3 digit number, and
it's a NPA band, then that means it's a size 7 band (they say the size
number, it's between the year and "NPA".) A size 7 means it's not a
homing pigeon, not a wedding release pigeon, and is either a fancy
pigeon, or a performing pigeon, in either case those ARE usually wanted
back badly because the bird either jumped it's cage on accident, or was
blown out of the area from heavy winds. And also, that birds needs to
be picked up NOW or a hawk WILL pick it up. If you don't think you can
catch it, then either let me know so I can try to catch the lost brd,
or call animal control and let them know there's a lost bird on the
loose. But if you do call an agency, let me know which one so I can
help them find the owner. beleive it or not they have absolutely no
clue how to track down pigeon owners, and I know because I have been in
close contact with several regarding my own birds, and usually they say
they've never had a lost pigeon before.
At the very least, I will check out any local roller clubs and see if
anyone's lost a white roller (which look very close to white ringneck
doves). But the bird NEEDS to be caught ASAP.

neighborhood for several weeks - it looks very forlorn and has clearly
been cared for, it has a band with the number 316 on its leg. The
families at 4527 Chesapeake and the opposite house have been watching
it and wondering whom to inform.
