Cat-sitter for AU Park?

Posted by: "Fabienne T Spier" spierf@georgetown.edu

Tue May 27, 2008 6:01 pm (PDT)

Hello,
I am looking for a cat-sitter to take care of my cats from June 13th to June 20th, in AU Park. I have 3 wonderful cats who are easy to take care of; since they go outside, there is no litter-box duty. I just need someone to give them love and attentio,n mostly in the evening and morning. If interested, please contact me prior to June 5.

Thank you.

Fort Reno Update

The National Park Service has informed our office that soil and
handheld testing has confirmed that there are NOT dangerous levels
of arsenic at Fort Reno Park. The National Park Service, along with
Federal and District partners, is preparing a press release to
announce the results of the arsenic testing. Our office expects the
National Park Service to open the majority of the park by the end of
the week; however, during the testing, one small area tested
positive for lead. That area will remain closed until the lead has
been removed. Health officials have informed us that the lead
levels are low enough that there is no health risk even if people or
dogs did inadvertently play in that area.

More information will be posted on our website as soon as it becomes
available.

Best regards,

MPD 2D Awards Banquet

Posted by: "Samantha Nolan" nolantutor@yahoo.com   nolantutor

Wed May 28, 2008 10:51 am (PDT)

I would like to encourage all block captains and others to join us for the 2D MPD Awards Banquet at Magianno's Little Italy at Friendship Heights Metro on July 30 from 6:00 - 10:00. We will be recognizing civilians and officers for their help in crime prevention and crime fighting over the last year. The ticket price is $40 per person which covers a three course meal and wine or soft drinks with dinner. We need your help to make this a successful event. Please send your check made payable to 2D MPD CAC to me at 2940 Northampton Street, NW, Washington, DC 20015. I will send your ticket back to you, or you can pick it up at the check-in desk at the event. We hope to sell 150 tickets to this event and fill the room with neighbors supporting the efforts of these Award Winners.

Tonight is our CAC (Citizens Advisory Council) meeting at 2D at 7:00. This is the time to get answers to your questions from the Commander. If you haven't already met the new Acting Commander (Mark Carter), this is a great time to sit and talk with him. You can purchase your ticket to the Banquet at that time too.

I look forward to seeing you all soon. Samantha Nolan, Chair, 2D MPD CAC
