A fellow singer in my chorus (a Tenor!) is in the window-washing
business. Although he's based in Takoma Park, he likes working in
Tenleytown. His name is Philip Bregstone of Dr. Glass Window
Washing. Nice guy, and if his window-washing is half as good as
his singing, our windows will sparkle! His telephone is
301-588-6533; email is Philip@DocGlass.Com

ARMORED CAR ROBBERY SUSPECT SOUGHT

Detectives assigned to the Metropolitan Police Department’s Special Investigations Branch are investigating the armed robbery of an armored car which occurred in the 1100 block of 19th Street, NW.

Reportedly, at about 12:30 on the afternoon of Thursday, May 22, 2008, a Dunbar Armored car was parked in front of 1111 19th Street, NW, while the driver waited in the truck for his partner to make a scheduled stop at the Washington, D.C. Passport Agency. While the armored car driver was waiting for his partner a suspect, described only as a light complexioned black male, tapped on the passenger side window and held up a bag that appeared to the driver to be a money bag. The driver, who apparently believed that it was his partner returning to the truck, opened the passenger side door. The driver reports that the suspect assaulted him with a tazer or stun gun at that time, then jumped inside the truck and pointed a handgun at him. The driver further reports that the suspect forced him at gunpoint to drive four or five blocks away from the 1100 block of 19th Street, NW to the vicinity of 22nd and M Streets, NW, where the suspect exited the vehicle and fled with an
undetermined amount of U.S. currency.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call police at (202) 727-9099 or 1-888-919-CRIM[E]. Confidential information can also be provided to the TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411.

The Metropolitan Police Department is currently offering a reward of up to TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for any armed robbery committed in the District of Columbia.
