Next week, Ward 3 Council Member Mary Cheh's Committee on Public
Services and Consumer Affairs will be considering an important bill for
development of solar energy in the District. The Clean and Affordable
Energy Act of 2008 (B 17-492) contains a number of provisions that will
place greater emphasis on developing local solar generation resources and
will reduce the costs for residential solar installations. This is significant legislation for anyone concerned about reducing greenhouse gases and considering a move to solar power. An earlier version of the bill is on the Council's website at

but a number of improvements have been made.

Marissa Solomon, a student in law school in New York, will be in DC for an internship with the Department of Justice, Bureau of Prisons, this summer from June 8 - mid August. She is married, and her husband would like to come to DC on the weekends to visit her. They are both non-smokers, non-drinkers. He is a teacher.
