Summer housing needed for our
college-aged cousin (he'll be a rising
Junior). He'll be doing an internship at National Geographic from June
7-Aug 22. If you're interested in a sublet, contact Lauren at lec619@comcast.net.
Thanks!
Our AC unit works well, but is the wrong
size for the space. It is a 5000 BTU Frigidaire
FAX054P7A1. It is about 2 years old. A comparable model, new, would
cost about $130. We
are selling ours for $60.
Our dog was maced through the mail slot
of our locked front door this
evening when the mail was delivered. I was at home at the time so I
could
flush her face & eyes with water, but I am not always at home when
the mail
is delivered. She has been treated at Friendship and will be OK, but of
course, we have the bill.
The mace looked orange with a brownish tint. In addition to being
sprayed
in our dog's eyes and face, there is mace on the front of our door, on
the
mail slot, on the mail that had dropped to the floor and over 70" into
the
house on papers in the mail basket on our steps, the rug, school papers,
etc. Why would anyone spray a dog in her own home behind a locked door
equipped with a mail slot?
I reported the incident. The mail carrier, not our usual carrier, was
carrying mace but informed me that she does not know how our dog came
to be
sprayed. Watch that the same thing isn't done to your dog.

Kate, it occurs to me that you might
want to report this to the postal
inspector and ask for an investigation. I'm referring to the folks who
investigate postal crimes, etc. There is a fairly big office, I
believe, of postal investigators. I find it hard to believe that
this letter carrier doesn't know how this happened. Duh? You
deserve a better explanation from the postal authorities than what you
got. If they have a trigger-happy carrier, they need to know it and
do something
about it.
