DPW'S BLUE PLAINS IMPOUNDMENT LOT CLOSED EARLY TODAY

DUE TO PLUMBING PROBLEM

The DC Department of Public Works announced today that the Blue Plains
Impoundment Lot closed early today due to a plumbing problem. The
plumbing crews are on site making repairs. Officials anticipate the lot
will reopen at 8 am Monday, February 4, but motorists are asked to call
202.645-6500 to confirm that the lot is open.

Motorists who paid today to have their vehicles released, but could not
pick up their vehicles because of the early closing, will not be charged
additional storage fees for today and the weekend.

The impoundment lot's normal business hours are weekdays, from 8 am to 6
pm. It is located at 5001 Shepherd Parkway, SW.

We apologize for any inconvenience. Thank you.

Summer Internships

(From Kathy Smith -- I thought this was important and tried to edit
it, but it's so long that I gave up on the editing. I think you'll be
able to figure out how the paragraphs should line up.)

From: mpdc2368@comcast.net

Please encourage your kids to start applying for summer
internships early. Most of the good internship programs are finding it
difficult to recruit enough students. Please do not send your children
to work in fast food places and departmental stores during the Summer
without checking out these ones first. Most of these ones will help
jumpstart their career growth while still in college and even
guarantee them an employment spot after graduation if their GPA is at
3.0 or higher. Some are even begging for students with as low as 2.5
GPA. For some of them, you might need to push the school to apply for
it on your behalf. Please note that they have strict deadlines. Below
are just a few:
