Recycle -what for?

This minute I watched the garbage collection people put household
trash and the contents of my blue recycle bin in the same orange
garbage truck.
Why do I go through great lengths to separate paper, plastic bottles
and glass? With all the green talk is that what reality looks like?
Does anybody know what happened to the District's recycle program?

Just another idea related to this message about meeting at Iona House. Several communities are studying or implementing an “Aging in Place” program. These programs provide services for seniors who want to stay in their homes but need additional help. Palisades started one of these programs in 2007. Help is available from AARP-DC to learn about and begin an Aging in Place Program. Some startup money may also be available. If anyone is interested in exploring this idea or setting up a meeting w/representatives from AARP, please let me know. More information can be provided to those who are interested or you can go on line to AARP’s website and view explanation of these programs which originally started in Boston. I can be reached at email natwasserman@comcast.net.

voice lessons

Does anyone know of any voice/singing instructors who take
on "regular" people who have trouble carrying a tune? It seems most
are for those who can already sing well and want to improve or learn a
new style, and they seem to charge quite a bit too. Any thoughts?
Thanks, Connie Kurihara

Fwd: Water Pressure in Tenleytown

As sent to Mr. Modell yesterday. Today's thought: If low water flow
appears only at the 2nd floor shower, it is not impossible that the
source pipe to that shower head could be rusted galvanized iron,
crushed copper, or perhaps even a defective valve on the wall
controlling the shower flow.

FWIW, we live up the hill on Fessenden between Wisconsin and River, and
we've always had low water pressure. Sounds like some folks in the hood
have good pressure, others not - a mystery.
