You may remember, this group collected 3 truckloads of household goods
from Section 3 the summer before last. They have now written asking
for assistance with beds---so if you have any please contact them,
they do good work for the homeless. It would be nice if everyone had a
bed to sleep on for the holidays...feel free to pass this on to others

Hi everyone,

I wanted to contact you all with a particularly urgent need we are
having this week and see if anyone might have some resources or ideas.

We have several families with emergency needs for beds in the next
week. These families include two in which children are at risk of
being removed from their home if beds cannot be provided. The families
have six and four children respectively. We are also expecting seven
women who have been out of shelters for weeks or months at this point
and have been sleeping on the floor.

We have had fewer beds on our pick-up list recently and had lost two
that we were scheduled to pick up this weekend but were left out in
the rain and became unusable. We are not expecting more than 4-6 to
come in over the next week and a half, and currently have one usable
mattress in our storage facility.

I know that all of you are always looking for beds, but since this
week's need is particularly pressing and coincides with a real
low-point in our inventory, we thought we would send out a note to see
if anyone is aware of available mattresses, cots, air mattresses or
even futons or pull-out couches.

We could rent a truck to pick up these items--and if you know anyone
who might want to volunteer to drive this truck, please let us know as
well!
