My husband and I have called several times about delivery of the Examiner
and have requested that it be stopped. It does stop for a while, but then it
starts up again. We travel fairly often and I am concerned about this as a
safety issue (telling burglars no one is home).

I have also emailed the owner but got no reply. Perhaps we are going to
have to address it as a public nuisance issue before we will get any remedy.

What do you think?

30s Bus Line Study Final Community Meetings

(Washington, DC): The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) and
the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) would like
to invite residents to the third round of public meetings that will be
held in December in support of the Metrobus 30s Line Study.

The purpose of the project is to help identify and implement bus
service improvements for Metrobus Routes 30, 32, 34, 35, 36, and M6.

The December public meetings will focus on draft service plan
recommendations that were developed based on responses to the June
rider survey, input from the July and October public meetings, and
technical analyses conducted by the study team.

The meetings will be held in two locations to make it easier for
District residents who live along the 30s and M6 bus routes to
participate. Each meeting will include the same program consisting of
an open house from 6:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. and a presentation and group
exercise from 7 pm to 8:30 pm.

A Real Bargain !

The DC Department of Energey will have a private contractor
go over everything in your house and tell you where the
energy inefficiencies are. They spend about 2 1/2 hours
and give you a lot of information at the end, including
where you're losing energy, how you can fix the problem, and
approximate costs to do the fix if you decide to do it.
Any repairs you make are strictly voluntary; they just want
to provide you with the information.

There are only 200 more audits available and they will
stop taking calls December 17. The person to call to arrage
the inspection is Willie Vazquez at 202-671-3304.

I had mentioned this survey before but didn't realize how
detailed an inspection it would be until I called to have
it done on my house. My understanding is that it is being
paid for by a surcharge on our energy bills. This is not
a free lunch but it sounds like a really terrific deal.

Below is the item I sent out before:

FREE Home Energy Rating

From: mccraecandace <mccraecandace@yahoo.com>

The District Department Environment (DDOE) is offering FREE Home Energy
Ratings to DC single family homeowners interested in addressing energy
efficiency. A certified energy rater will identify a home's energy
deficiencies and provide homeowners with cost-effective
recommendations, that when installed will reduce energy loss in the
home. Homeowners will receive a computerized report detailing wasted
energy within 7 to 10 business days following the assessment. The
program expires on Monday, December 17, 2007, so call DDOE today to
take advantage of a FREE Home Energy Rating. For more information or
to schedule your FREE Home Energy Rating, click on the link below or
call Willie Vazquez at 202-671-3304.
