Hi Donna,

My son took driving lessons with Officer Wilson and just finished mid
September. We also gave lessons, but Officer Wilson was much better; just
wonderful with teaching and instilling responsibility! He was very thorough
& even took our son down to DMV for the test. Here is the contact info that
I have: 202/438-9058 or 438-9059.

Then, 2 weeks ago, our son also took a course that covered the next step in
driving skills such as high speed braking, controlling a car if a wheel runs
off onto the shoulder, managing a skid, etc. Great skills to have! Not the
sort of stuff that anyone can teach on crowded streets, it was on a police
training course. It is a safety driving course taught by Drive2Survive, a
non-profit developed by professional driving instructors for police
departments who are devoting one or two weekends each month to teach teens
to drive. The website is: http://www.drive2survive.org
<http://www.drive2survive.org/> .

Good luck with your daughter,

Kate

Don't you think you should be more precise with your information? You
need to clarify that the tree must be in public space … tree box, etc.

Yes, it is only for trees in DDOT maintained public spaces, which
means street trees. It doesn't work for other public spaces such as
parks (mostly National Park Service, but some DC Parks and Recreation
as well), or the many little parcels of property through out the city
that form triangles or rectangles, or trees in alleys.
