Looking for Officer Wilson

Posted by: "Donna DeSilva" rjodmd@comcast.net

I am seeking a contact number for a former/retired DC police officer, named
officer Wilson, who gives driving lessons. My older daughter took lessons
from officer Wilson and he was very helpful to her. Unfortunately in the 4
years since she learned to drive, we have lost his contact info. Now my
younger daughter could use his help. If anyone has contact info for officer
Wilson, or knows another who provides a similar service of private driving
lessons. Please let me know. Thanks. Donna DeSilva

To be given to a nice home, a free Gulbransen (blond color), Supertone
Scale spinet piano. The Piano will need tuning. This piano was given
to IONA Senior Services and has since been replaced by a donation from
a member of the community. You would be responsible for removal.
Please contact: Richard Clark (202) 895-9417 at IONA, if you are
interested.

Subject: Re: DDOT's Tree Planting Season Begins

From: Aurelia Roman <romana@georgetown.edu>

Thank you for the announcement concerning tree planting, but how about
dead trees removal first?
At the edge of the property on 4939 Albemarle St. there is a huge
dead tree, a city tree. It was killed by thoughtless covering of its
roots with hot black tar. Its roots were coming partially on the
sidewalk for the last thirty five years and nobody ever fell or
injured himself. Each time the city wanted to cover those roots I
happened to be home and convinced them not to do it. Two years ago, I
was in the hospital. They did it, and no sooner one of the most
extraordinarily beautiful, oxygen and shade providing huge tree died.
It remains standing, a menace now
for the electrical wires and for all of us. Can the city come and cut it
down? Than you very much,
Aurelia Roman
