What has surprised me about this particular article is the number of
people that have responded privately.

Subject: [MPD-2d] Crimes of Opportunity

From: Samantha Nolan <nolantutor@yahoo.com>

The crime below is preventable. People are making crime too easy.
Please do not leave items in your vehicle that will make it more
attractive. This is a crime of opportunity. We can do better than
this. Please help spread the word through Neighborhood Watch Crime
Prevention Programs. Volunteer to be a block captain. Contact me at
NolanTutor@Yahoo.com or call me at 244-2620 to find out more about our
programs. Thank you. Samantha Nolan, Chair, 2D MPD CAC

Theft occurred in the 1600 block of 44th STREET NW between
10/27/2007 11:30 pm and 10/28/2007 11:30 am. Suspect(s) unknown
entered a vehicle by smashing a window to gain entry. Stolen from
inside was a back pack, book, clothing, sun glasses, GPS system, and
IPOD.
