We would appreciate advise on a very bothersome problem. We live in
American University Park, on Albemarle street in a two level brick
home. We have been in this home since 1972 but we never had this noise
before, noise which does not let us sleep at night. No, it is not
because of students' parties. It seems that squirrels, perhaps even
raccoons are having a ball all night in our attic. How do they get in
there? Is there anything we can do? Does anybody else have this
problem?
How long did it take to solve it and how.? Thank you very much for any
helpful suggestions. George and Relly

I suggest your buy or borrow a live trap and humanely put them
outside. You then need to figure out how they are getting in and
plug the hole. There are services that will do this for you.
Perhaps before trying the live trap, take a bottle of ammonia
into the attic, remove the cap and let it sit there. It will
probably drive the animals out. But you still need to plug up
the entrance. Do this during the day. Perhaps they won't even
be inside then. All the better.
