mommy's helper wanted in AU

Hi,
If you are the parent of a 9, 10 or 11-year-old daughter who is a budding
"mommy's helper" - I am in graduate school and would love time to study or write
while your child plays with my 5-and-a-half year-old daughter.

Basically I pay your kid $3 an hour, she plays with my kid, while I
essentially babysit upstairs. I will always be here; we can work out who picks up- or
drops off. I just need an occasional helper who is reliable and likes to
play with an energetic child.

Good days are Thursdays from 4:45 to 6:15 (approximately); Some Saturday or
Sunday mornings from 10-noon; and other dates when my husband is traveling. On
days when your child wishes to stay for dinner, I will feed yours when I'm
done studying or they are done playing (or when they are hungry!).

For anyone new to this- if your daughter is a budding babysitter who can't
yet do it alone, the idea is for the helper to play Candyland or a wild game
of Jr. Monopoly with my child. Occasionally, one or two of the girls from
next store will be here. As long as the "helper" can keep peace while I'm on my
computer, it's fine.

Please send me an e-mail at _lisa4news@aol.com_ (mailto:lisa4news@aol.com)
if your child is interested. *Sorry to any boys who would like to sit- as for
now - my child prefers a girl. Thanks, lisa

Can anyone recommend a person/firm that delivers and stacks firewood (I
want to get a fairly decent load and not just rely on the guys who go
through the streets on the weekends knocking on doors).

Thanks!

Saturday, October 20, 9 am, Lisner Home, 5425 Western Avenue, NW

ANC 3E will convene a special meeting to discuss and possibly vote on
the Public Space Permit Application for driveways and curb-cuts for
the Commerce Bank on Wisconsin Avenue. We have invited and are
expecting a DDOT engineer to attend so the community can get our
technical traffic questions answered.

The ANC 3E will also review and possibly vote on the ANC 3E Special
Committee's comments for the draft RFP for the Library/School land sale.

I do not know who's doing the survey. But my building 4801 Wisconsin
Ave. for example have about 50[fifty] or so parking spots use the
alley. Plus many others rent from owners who have spots to rent. There
is a license building in the alleyway, which runs a flooring company.
Also on the corner of Davenport and the alley is the entrance to the
Spanish Embassy which has about 50[fifty] or so spots. This is just
our building. What about the others? If I could be there I would. So I
could I would
