Dear DC Residents, Metrobus Riders, and
Community Groups:
You are cordially invited to attend one of two public meetings that will
be held in October in support of the Metrobus 30s Line Study. The
project is sponsored by Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority
(WMATA) in partnership with the District Department of Transportation
(DDOT), and will identify and implement bus service improvements for
Metrobus Routes 30, 32, 34, 35, 36, and M6.
The first two meetings were on Thursday, July 19 and Tuesday, July 24 at
St Columba?s Episcopal Church in Northwest DC and Pennsylvania Avenue
Baptist Church in Southeast DC, respectively. Numerous comments and
suggestions were received at these meetings, and the study team is
conducting a technical analysis and preparing a set of improvement
options based on these comments.
This second round of public meetings will focus on your review and
comment on draft improvement options that were developed from responses
to our June 2007 rider survey, input from the July 2007 round of public
meetings, and additional technical analyses conducted by the study team.
The meeting will be held in two different locations to make it easier
for
DC residents who live along the 30s and M6 bus routes to participate.
The meeting dates and locations are as follows:
Thursday, October 18, 2007
6:30 pm to 8:30 pm
St. Columba?s Episcopal Church
Great Hall
4201 Albemarle Street, NW
Washington, DC 20016
Wednesday, October 24, 2007
6:30 pm to 8:30 pm
St. Francis Xavier Catholic School
Multi-purpose Room
2700 O Street, SE
Washington, DC 20020
Each meeting will include the same program consisting of an Open House
from 6:30 pm to 7:00 pm and a presentation and group exercise from 7:00
pm to 8:30 pm. Both meetings are open to the public and we will continue
to rely on your feedback to guide our study efforts to make improvements
to the 30s Line. We encourage you to participate in this important
project and hope to see you there.
Please feel free to distribute the attached flyer to members of your
