Why doesn't the city buy. Turn it into the library. Sell the other
building to a developer. Use the church for library and adult learning
center for example.

The FTC's website on Free Credit Reports - The Proper Starting Point

Hi, FYI,

The "Free Credit Report" is a true jungle with all manner of booby
traps laid by the three Credit Report Agencies which are fighting
free reports with all their wiles, might, and vigor. They may offer
(one month's "free" report) but there are hidden fishhooks which can
cost you $9.95 monthly up to $29.95 a month on an OPT-OUT basis, for
all kinds of unnecessary invented bells and whistles which you can be
hooked into until doomsday to pay - the burden is on YOU to
disconnect to avoid a lifetime commitment. Or stay away entirely.

Here's the "honest" starting site to start getting your true free
annual reports from the three agencies. But the Gov't site will ask
for all your personal data, and then hand you off to the individual
agency of your choice for their PRIVATE INQUISITIONS!

You might also question the wisdom of putting all your private info,
including your social security number, on the web, and may consider
preferably using the snail mail application form.

Good hunting!

John

In the alley behind 3713 Windom Place is some used colonial style
door trim (needs scraping and repainting). Free if you get to it
before a trash pickup.

The seller or agent is Lincoln Property Company. You might try to
get the brochure they have via Google.

Judging from the recent entries, many people seem to just be learning
about what has been and currently is happening with the Eldbrooke
property. It will be interesting to see who the mystery buyer turns
out to be and what the buyer intends to do with the property.

I think that developers (Roadside or others), our officials and the
School and Library folks missed the boat on an opportunity to acquire
the Eldbroke property for the library, renovate and expand Janney with
parking under a new athletic field a la Georgetown Day and Sidwell,
and let a developer put a condo building with affordable housing on
the old library site.
