ANC3F RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE WILLIAMS ADMINISTRATION
FOR STOPPING CONSTRUCTION OF TELECOMMUNICATIONS TOWER
AT 4623 41ST STREET, N.W.

WHEREAS: American Tower Systems applied for building permits for construction of a 756 foot telecommunications tower at 4623 41st Street, N.W., and
WHEREAS: The Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs (DCRA) issued necessary building permits for construction of the tower and construction of the tower started, and
WHEREAS: Apparently there was no public notice given of the proposed construction of the tower, and
WHEREAS: Tenleytown residents seeing the start of construction and obtaining information on the project, objected to construction of the tower because of height, environmental and other impacts, and
WHEREAS: The Williams Administration, responding to the residents and finding a number of procedural errors in the process of reviewing the building permit applications, issued a notice rescinding and cancelling the building permits,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT: ANC3F commends Mayor Anthony A. Williams and the DCRA for responding in the best interest of the Tenleytown neighborhood and the city by stopping construction of the tower.
